It appears to be installed in the Kernel, lsusb does show it there, and it shows up and assigns itself to /dev/input/mouse1 (when I run cat /dev/input/mouse1 and touch the screen I get a reaction)īut xinput does not detect it at all. So can someone please explain step by step how to get this to interact with X! As I say the Kernel seems to find it with no dramas, something in Xorg seems to restrict it? The current Kernel I am running is a self compiled kernel 3.9.6 but that can easily be changed to anything that will help me run this! I have tried writting all kinds of files and hal files etc etc.

So im trying to install the touscreen (egalax) THIs is a POS from fujitsu, called TP8AS (i think this is a new version and there are no drivers on the fujitsu page) I had it working at the beginning of last year (I think CentOS 6.2?) but don't recall how I did it.IM here again with a new POS trying to make a touchscreen work EGALAX TOUCH DRIVERS LINUX HOW TO

( and i might add the network doesnt work too, still checking why) The guide tells me to compile the kernel( i did it with 3.0.101-63-pae and folloed the guideĮverythin good, kernel compiled and booted BUT the touchscreen still doesnt work. Model: "D-WAV Scientific eGalax TouchScreen" Well not good news… it worked out of the box for me… lsusbīus 001 Device 003: ID 0eef:0001 D-WAV Scientific Co., Ltd eGalax TouchScreen So now im stuck with a nother touchscreen.īUT on kernel 4.8.5 which is te one using the customer, i cannot compile it ) So the guide tells me to compile the kernel and add/remove some options using make menuconfig ( did it)Īnd then add some lines to evdev.c - mousedev.c - joydev.c ( did it and the kernel compiled with no errors.
